Job Summary
Accountable for all R&D and process excellence initiatives at the plant.
Formulates and directs all research and development programs. Introduces new products and processes into overall company strategy and makes recommendations for the improvement and cost reduction of existing products and processes.
Primary Duties & Responsibilities
| 1 | Collaborates with HO and other department heads to formulate the R&D strategy. |
| 2 | Develop and oversee the formulation of budgets and policies and procedures for the Research Department. |
| 3 | Monitors the research and development allocated budget and provide ROI for the same |
| 4 | Identifies new technologies that can be used to enhance efficiency and productivity at the plant. |
| 5 | Identify the emerging best practices in the steel production process and evaluate their relevance to the plant operations. |
| 6 | Engage employees in idea generation for product enhancement, new technology adoption and process improvement |
| 7 | Tie up with external reputed institutions/research organizations for funded research on iron and steel process and product |
Job Specifications
| Educational Qualification | Bachelors in Engineering preferably in Mechanical Engg |
| Experience | 15+ years of relevant QC and R & D experience in a steel industry. |
