Job Summary

Drive implementation of human resource policies, systems and processes to enable the plant to effectively recruit, motivate, develop, manage and retain its employees required for effective operations.

The incumbent is also responsible for the Legal, CSR and IR functions at the plant.

Duties And Responsibilities

Facilitates execution of the strategies and plans developed at the corporate level. Formulate and implement long and short term HR plans to support the line function in the identified areas  
Manages all the PR and liaisoning activities at the plant.  
Handles Union and Legal matters at the plant level and ensures quick settlement of any Legal or IR related issues.  
Monitor Employee payroll cost and work with close coordination with group HR to optimize the same  
Work in close coordination with department heads to capture their expectations from HR function and provide efficient service and support to them  
Oversee the HR Operations-Recruitment, Selection, Orientation, Performance Management, Transfer, development, payroll, Retirals and Separation of employees at the plant. The incumbent ensures adherence to the Group HR policies and procedures at the plant level.  
Ensures effective implementation of CSR activities as per direction from Head Office.  
Formulates effective employee engagement strategies and criteria for measuring the same. Conducts periodic employee engagement surveys to measure levels of engagement and takes corrective action as required through necessary change management strategies and programmes.  
Ensures that employee development processes such as career planning, succession planning , etc are implemented effectively in accordance with the group policies.  
Partner with department heads on employee relations issues, including providing fact based, consistent recommendations for Performance Improvement Plans and terminations  
Facilitate identification of high performing and high potential employees and work out their retention strategy in close coordination with Group HR.  
Supervision and monitoring of employee grievance handling and welfare at the plant.  
Ensure maintenance of proper personnel records and ensure that all employment formalities are completed on time.  
Effectively coordinates with the Plant Head as well as other department Heads to  translate the business requirements into a staffing strategy and validating the manpower requirements for the year.  
Oversee the development and implementation of a wide variety of leadership training programs and curriculum.  
Recommend new approaches, policies and procedures to effect continuous improvement in efficiency of the HR department and the services provided.  
Identifying training needs for the plant & organizing effective training programs for improving productivity.  
Undertakes HR audits as required.  
Ensure HR transactional services run smoothly  

Job Specifications

Educational QualificationCandidates must possess a MBA or MSW degree An advanced degree or professional certification in HR is preferred
Experience15+ Years of Experience of progressive experience as human resources generalist with more than five years at senior management level in a steel company. Experience must include hands-on responsibility for the full scope of human resources activities, both operations and analysis.
